Meet the Teachers

Ms. Alex, Lead Educator

Hello! I am Alex Yahl and I am so happy to be joining KECC in 2025 as the certified teacher in the Tiger Room!

I graduated from Truman State University in 2016 with my Masters in Education. I previously taught at North Glendale Elementary for 6 years, mostly the kindergarten, and then in 2023 began working in the Education Department at The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum. There is something so magical about being inside the classroom, especially with our youngest learners!

My husband and I live in Glendale with our two children, Harper and Jake, and our two dogs, Duke and Cali. We love to play outside, make art projects, go to the zoo and library, and take trips with our family to the lake.

I am so excited to be a part of your child’s educational journey and look forward to our year together!

Ms. Heather, Classroom Educator

My name is Ms. Heather, and I have been working with children professionally since 2019.

I have a BA in journalism and previous experience in the field of public relations.

My family and I are devoted animal lovers.  We rescue and foster kittens for St. Louis Pet Rescue and "TNR" (trap, neuter & release) feral cats in association with St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach.

I enjoy being a member of KECC's exceptional team and consider it a priviledge to spend my days in the company of children.

Ms, Sharon, Classroom Educator

Hello! My name is Sharon Palmer and I am excited to be on the KECC Team! I’ve been in the Early Childhood Education field since 2012 and have taught two’s through pre-kindergarten students.  I also have experience working as an assistant with ELL learners and administering academic interventions.

I graduated from the University of Missouri Saint Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a Public Relations Certification.

In July 2025, I entered a certification program to obtain my teaching certification by Spring 2026 along with a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. My goal as an educator is to make a lasting impact on children.

My motto is “a child can learn from you, when they trust you.”
