Meet the Teachers

Ms. Elizabeth, Lead Teacher

Hello, my name is Elizabeth Wiegert and I have been a teaching since 2010.  I have a Masters degree in Early Childhood as well as a degree in Elementary Education.

I taught Kindergarten for nine years and have also taught both first and second grade.  I love working with children and enjoy watching them learn and grow both academically and socially.

My husband, Chris and I have three children.  We are very busy but love every minute of it.  We love to travel and enjoy being outdoors with the children.

Joining KECC in 2022, I love the school and the community. I am looking forward to this school year and being a part of the Lion team.

Go Lions 🦁!!

Ms. Margie, Classroom Educator

My name is Margie Thornton. I have been teaching preschool age children for a long time. Before coming to KECC, I was a preschool teacher at St. Joseph Educational Childcare Center. I began working at St. Joe’s ECCC while attending Fontbonne University. I have been teaching at KECC since 2002! I have been a part of the Lion Room since 2012.

I live in Barnhart with my husband, Cary and our two beautiful black Labs, Marley and Libby. I am a mom to two grown daughters and a “Gigi” to six grandchildren.

When I am not here, I enjoy caring for my five grandchildren!  I also enjoy cooking, shopping and spending time with my family! My favorite place to be is relaxing on a beach.

Ms.Emily, Classroom Educator

Hi! My name is Emily Schiller. I am a dual certified teacher, in early childhood education and elementary education. I hold my bachelor’s degree from UMSL in Elementary Education.

In 2015, I joined KECC and worked for Kirkwood School District before that as a TA.  I have taught in the Turtle, Penguin and Bunny rooms, and I was a flexible staff member before joining the Turtles!

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, and going to Bull Shoals Lake with my husband and dog.

I firmly believe that all children learn differently and at their own pace. I look forward to getting to know your family and getting to teach your child!

We will have an amazing year in the Lion room!
